As a bisexual, it sickens me that some people WILL keep scrolling.

As the straight daughter of a gay man, it sickens me that some people will keep scrolling.

As a straight girl with a basic understanding of equality and love, it also sickens me that people will keep scrolling.

As a straight Christian woman, I pray that people will not scroll past this. Love, not judge.

I’m re-reblogging for that last one.

If you care about abusive relationships please do not watch this movie in theaters. ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ is about a monster with mommy issues who manipulates and abuses a naive girl. This is all in the guise of BDSM, and it’s NOT how real BDSM is like (the BDSM community hates this book…

My question to you is.. Did you read the Hunger Games… What’s worse.. Kids killing kids to survive or a book purely about a taboo topic of sex and bondage???

There weren’t any rape scenes in it.. They’re were parts that went to far but she stood her ground and he obeyed her..

Everyone has a problem with this book because it’s about sex… But again where did all of us come from.. Parents having sex… When I comes to sex everyone is a prude but when if comes to children killing children to survive it’s okay…

I will be going to see the movie! Behind all the sex it does have a story line!

Having also read the book, all three actually, more than once, I can say for certain there are no rape scenes in this book. I’m not one to judge or criticize about how their relationship was conducted because I’ve never been in a BDSM relationship before. But everything they did together was CONSENSUAL. He never forced her into the relationship and told her what he expected from her from the very beginning. She was willing to do all the things he wanted to do and even took the ropes a time or two in the beginning of their relationship. The one time he does “abuse” her was when she wanted to see how far he could go, and she saw. She didn’t like how he made her feel and she finally left him. She knew he was controlling, intimidating, and sometimes a little scary but she knew what he was really like and loved him despite his heavy, heavy, HEAVY baggage. HE comes back to HER and says he wants to try again, to try again for her and for their future together. He tells her she has all the power in their relationship because he could never live without her. He changes his whole view of love and the world for her. He hates how he made her feel and never wants to hurt her in any way ever again. “The last time we were in there you left me,” he says quietly. “I will shy away from anything that could make you leave me again. I was devastated when you left. I explained that. I never want to feel like that again. I’ve told you how I feel about you.” His gray eyes are wide and intense with his sincerity.” At the beginning of the second book he shies away from anything BDSM related, even when ANA BEGS him to take her back to the playroom because he doesn’t want to harm her again. They start a healthy, vanilla relationship that they’re both happy with. This book doesn’t promote abuse and everyone needs to keep in mind that this is a piece of fiction. Things like this don’t usually happen in real life but that’s what makes this interesting and different. Most people don’t change for love and that’s what makes this a good plot for the story. And yes despite the sex scenes and some mediocre writing skills, this story has the potential to be a good movie because of what the author was TRYING to write. In all honesty I’m going to watch the movie too because of the potential it has to be a good, even great, movie. Hopefully the director and cast see the good the book has to offer.

Thank you for that!!!!! The only reason why I compared the Hunger games to this is to see what is worse… About set in the future kids killing kids to survive because a government is wacky! Or a relationship based off of sex and bdsm and people changing one another for the good!

And if you are a teenager your reading FSOG your should have been looking at what you are reading!

No I haven’t read the hunger games but my boyfriend aunt has and she thinks it far worse the FSOG.. She agrees with me actually said this ” most likely being said by folks who don’t remember what it is like to be 21 and inexperienced and those who have not read the book, Now - does he get out of hand a few times - OH YES….but she puts her foot down and they forget, anytime she says no or stop…he does!”

How can you rectify kids killing kids to survive… The book is about having a consensual sex life with someone that practices the BDSM Life style and tells the character that she can say no at anytime it they can stop the whole relationship at any time and they end if falling in love with each other. And changing each other’s lives.

My question is how old are you?

"i respected your opinion until i saw that you had read 50 shades of grey. now i can't take you seriously. i might just unfollow you."

I think we have a bigger issue here: I can’t take you seriously…

It’s awesome to see that as a community, we are still being bothered by those people who think you are automatically disgusting/awful/poorly read if you have read erotica (particularly 50 shades, it seems). It’s also bloody awesome to note that people will actually lose respect of your opinion merely because you have read such a book.

I can smell a major case of book snobbery here, and I don’t tolerate it on my blog. So yes, please, do kindly unfollow me because I don’t want some shallow, narrow minded and frankly, immature person following my blog in the first place.

Let’s not hate people for the books they want to read/enjoy reading. Let’s enjoy the fact that people are reading. What does it matter what people read? It’s the fact that they do read that counts.

Thank you!!! Finally someone who fights back.. The book was steamy and has a good story line behind all the sex!

"Is it just me or am I the only one that thought Christian Grey was going to be played by someone hotter? To me this guy is ehhhhh. 😕"

Yes, we all agree with you. :)
